Olympia Manufactured Gas Plant

Research to support litigation related to a late-nineteenth century manufactured gas plant in Olympia, Washington. Research investigated the plant’s ownership and operational history, and urban development in a three-block radius around the plant using Washington State Archives corporate records, company minutes, and other sources, maps, and Polk’s city directories. The project documented the plant’s construction, operations, and ownership, developed detailed corporate genealogies of all companies involved in the plant and subsequent property ownership, prepared a land title history, and tracked land use on several land parcels within a three-block radius.
